MENGGUNAKAN AYAT AL QUR'AN yang TERJEMAHANNYA SAJA SALAH, UNTUK KAMPANYE BERBAU SARA DAN POLITIK

Suatu hari timbul berita tentang isu SARA (Suku Agama Ras Antar-golongan) dalam kampanye pilkada (pemilihan kepala daerah) DKI (Daerah Khusus Ibukota) Jakarta tahun 2012. Oleh sebuah statsiun televisi, isu tersebut dijadikan topik sebuah acara talk show. Dalam acara tersebut terungkap bahwa ada ayat Al Qur’an yang dijadikan landasan oleh seorang tokoh agama islam dalam memberi penjelasan kepada publik bahwa orang islam tidak boleh memilih pemimpin yang tidak beragama islam. Ayat tersebut adalah 5:51 (Surat Al Maa’idah ayat 51). Terjemahan ayat 5:51 yang digunakan oleh tokoh tersebut adalah versi Dep. Agama RI.

5:51. Hai orang-orang yang beriman, janganlah kamu mengambil orang-orang Yahudi dan Nasrani menjadi pemimpin-pemimpin(mu); sebahagian mereka adalah pemimpin bagi sebahagian yang lain. Barangsiapa diantara kamu mengambil mereka menjadi pemimpin, maka sesungguhnya orang itu termasuk golongan mereka. Sesungguhnya Allah tidak memberi petunjuk kepada orang-orang yang zalim.

Benarkah ayat terjemahan yang digunakan oleh tokoh tersebut? Perlu diingat bahwa kita tidak boleh beriman kepada penerjemah Al Qur’an. Sebagai manusia, penerjemah juga dapat melakukan kesalahan. Sebagai manusia, penerjemah juga dapat tergoda oleh bisikan syaitan sehingga membuat terjemahan yang mengikuti hawa nafsu. Oleh karena itu, penulis ingin membahas secara khusus tentang terjemahan 5:51.

TERJEMAHAN 5:51

Transliterasi ayat 5:51 adalah sebagai berikut.

005.051 Y[a] ayyuh[a] alla[th]eena [a]manoo l[a] tattakhi[th]oo alyahooda wa(al)nna[sa]r[a] awliy[a]a baAA[d]uhum awliy[a]o baAA[d]in waman yatawallahum minkum fa-innahu minhum inna All[a]ha l[a] yahdee alqawma a(l){thth}[a]limeen(a) (Text Copied from DivineIslam's Qur'an Viewer software v2.910)

Penulis ingin menekankan pada kata dalam bahasa Arab yang diterjemahkan menjadi pemimpin. Kata itu adalah awliy[a]a atau awliyaa  atau auliyaa. Menurut project root list di http://www.studyquran.co.uk/PRLonline.htm, awliyaa adalah bentuk jamak dari waliy. Berdasarkan akar katanya, waliy berarti to be close (dekat), near (dekat), follow (mengikuti), be up to (sampai). Kutipan dari project root list yang relevan dengan awliyaa adalah sebagai berikut.

Berdasarkan kutipan dari project root list tersebut, ternyata tidak ada arti kata waliy atau awliyaa yang sama dengan pemimpin. Apakah terjemahan versi Dep. Agama RI salah? Marilah kita bandingkan versi Depag RI dengan versi-versi lainnya. Berikut ini adalah versi-versi tersebut.

5.51 O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust. (versi Abdullah Yusuf Ali)

5:51 You, you those who believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians (as) guardians/patrons, some of them (are) guardians/patrons (of) some, and who follows them from you, so that he truly is from them, that God does not guide the nation, the unjust/oppressive. (versi Muhamed dan Samira Ahmed)

5:51. O you who believe! Do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies.They are allies of one other. And whoever among you takes them as allies, then indeed he is of them. Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. (versi Dr. Shehnaz Shaikh dan Ms. Kausar Khatri)

5:51. Wahai orang-orang yang percaya, janganlah mengambil orang-orang Yahudi, dan orang-orang Nasrani, sebagai sahabat; mereka adalah sahabat-sahabat satu sama lain. Barang siapa antara kamu yang menjadikan mereka sahabat-sahabatnya adalah dari mereka. Sesungguhnya Allah tidak memberi petunjuk kepada kaum yang zalim. (Versi Othman Ali)

5:51 Believers, take neither Jews nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with another. Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become of their member. God does not guide the wrongdoers. (Versi N. J. Dawood)

5:51 O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who taketh them for friends is (one) of them. Lo! Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk. (versi Muhd M.W.Pickthall)

5:51 O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people. (versi M.H.Shakir)

5:51. O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya' (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya' to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya', then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers and unjust). 5:51. O you who believe, do not take certain Jews and Christians as allies;  these are allies of one another. Those among you who ally themselves with these belong with them. GOD does not guide the transgressors. (versi Dr. Rashad Khalifa, Ph.D.)

5:51. O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other.And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them.Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust. (versi Harun Yahya)

5:51. 'O believer! Do not take the Jews and Christians as friends, they are friends of each other among themselves, and whoso of you makes them his friends, then he is one of them. Undoubtedly Allah guides not the people unjust. (versi AalaHazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan)

5:51 O believers! Take neither Jews nor Christians as your protecting friends: they are only protecting friends of one another. Whoever of you disobeys this commandment will be counted as one of them. Surely Allah does not guide the wrongdoers. (versi F. Malik)

5:51. O you who believe, do not take the Jews and the Christians for intimate friends. They are friends to each other. Whoever takes them as intimate friends is one of them. Surely, Allah does not take the unjust people to the right path. (versi Taqi Usmani)

Ternyata, dalam 14 versi terjemahan 5:51 selain versi Depag RI di atas juga tidak ada penerjemah yang menerjemahkan awlyaa menjadi pemimpin. Selain itu, dalam daftar arti kata berdasarkan akar kata Waw-Lam-Ya  yang terdapat dalam project root list juga tidak ada yang menyebutkan bahwa awlyaa berarti pemimpin. Jadi, kata pemimpin dalam terjemahan 5:51 versi Dep. Agama RI adalah hasil penerjemahan yang salah. Selain itu, ini berarti bahwa kesalahan tersebut kemungkinan besar hanya terjadi di Indonesia
